Sensory integration: A review of the current state of the evidence

Sensory integration remains a significant area of practice for occupational therapists and research into sensory integrative and sensory processing disorders continues to flourish, so it is important to keep abreast of recent findings. In 2009, the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association (CAOT) published a special issue of its newsletter OT Now devoted to sensory processing and occupation. As part of that issue, Nancy Pollock wrote a review of the current state of the evidence including discussions on terminology, identification, diagnosis, and a synthesis of the evidence regarding treatment effectiveness.
